BOOK A VISIT

Book a Visit

Request an IT visit anywhere in Humboldt County — computer repair, business IT, cybersecurity or web work. Tell us what you need and when suits, and we reply with a date and time window to confirm. Submitting this form is a request, not a booking. For anything urgent, call or text (369) 227-1933.

How booking works

1. You send the request

Roughly what is wrong, roughly when suits, and where. It does not need to be precise — "somewhere in Eureka, Tuesday or Wednesday morning" is plenty to work with.

2. We check the calendar and the road

Humboldt is spread out and travel time is real. We look at what else is already booked near you that day, then propose a window we can actually make rather than one that sounds good.

3. You get a confirmation

By email or text, naming the date and the time window. Until that arrives, nothing is booked. If the time we can offer does not work for you, say so and we will find another.

4. We show up and quote before we bill

You get the diagnosis and the price before any billable work starts. If the honest recommendation is to replace rather than repair, or to do nothing, that is what you will hear.

Remote or onsite — which do you need?

A good share of what people book a visit for never needed one. Software faults, malware, email and account lockouts, printer and configuration problems, and most business-system work can be done over a secure remote session with you watching the screen the whole time. That is usually faster for you and cheaper than a visit.

What genuinely needs someone in the room: hardware failures, screen and drive replacements, anything involving cabling or a rack, network gear that has stopped responding, a machine that will not boot far enough to connect, and any situation where you want a person to physically look at the setup. If you are not sure which yours is, describe it and we will tell you — we have no reason to sell you a trip.

What to have ready

  • Access. The login for the machine, or someone on site who has it. A visit that stalls on a forgotten password is an expensive way to spend an hour.
  • The address and how to get in — gate codes, which door, where to park. Some of the county is genuinely hard to find.
  • A backup, if you have one. If you do not, say so up front; for repair work where data matters, that changes the order we do things in.
  • What you actually want out of it. "Make it fast again" and "get my photos off it" are different jobs with different prices.

Where we travel

All of Humboldt County. McKinleyville is home base, and Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna and Trinidad are the towns we are in most weeks. Ferndale, Blue Lake, Rio Dell, Scotia, Loleta, Hydesville, Carlotta, Redcrest, Willow Creek and Garberville are all covered too — those just want a bit more notice so the trip can be planned properly rather than squeezed in. See service areas for the town pages.

Not a confirmed appointment until I reply. For same-day/urgent help, call (369) 227-1933.

Booking FAQ

Is submitting this form a confirmed appointment?

No. It is a request. Nothing is booked until you get a reply from us naming a date and a time window — we check the calendar and the travel before confirming, because a slot we cannot actually make is worse than no slot. If you need certainty right now, call (369) 227-1933 instead.

Which towns do you travel to?

Anywhere in Humboldt County. McKinleyville is our base, and Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna and Trinidad are the towns we are in most weeks. We also cover Ferndale, Blue Lake, Rio Dell, Scotia, Loleta, Hydesville, Carlotta, Redcrest, Willow Creek and Garberville — the further ones just need a little more notice.

How far ahead should I book?

Most onsite visits are scheduled within a few business days. Book a week ahead if the timing matters to you — around a move, an install, a business opening or an audit. If something is stopped right now, do not use this form: call or text and we will tell you honestly what we can do today.

Do I need to be there for the whole visit?

For a home visit, yes at the start and end — we need to see the problem happen and hand it back working. For a business, whoever knows the system needs to be reachable, not necessarily present. If we need to take a machine away we leave a written note of what we took and why.

What does a visit cost?

A typical computer-repair visit runs $225–$300 depending on scope, and you get the figure in writing before any billable work starts. Managed business support is $20–$60 per user per month. There is no charge for the conversation, the diagnosis, or a recommendation to not spend money.

Can we do it remotely instead?

Very often, and it is usually faster for you. Software faults, malware, email and account problems, configuration and most business-system work can be done over a secure remote session with you watching. Hardware failures, cabling and anything physically inaccessible need someone on site.
